In an incubator, especially for breeding queen bees, with electrical heating and heat regulation and with a device for maintaining a relative air humidity, in order to achieve uniform internal temperatures and improve the observability of the incubating material there is provided a pot-shaped bottom part (1), with a heating plate (9) which is arranged in the region of the open top side and over which a metal plate (12) engages, and two covers (3, 4) made of transparent or translucent material, which are slipped one over the other at a distance and which are placed on the bottom part (1), the inner cover (3) having an orifice (7) in the top side and carrying at a short distance above the metal plate (12) and in parallel a carrier grid (14) for queen-bee cell cages. <IMAGE>
