The steam outlet comprises a hollow cylindrical valve body (3) with side orifices (4) inserted in a single circular pan opening and connected in rustproof manner to the peripheral edge of same. A manual control knob (5) with orifices (6) which correspond in the open position to the side orifices (4) of the valve is designed to fit onto the valve where it is rotatably connected to same. The rust proof connection is preferably achieved by riveting the valve body in the lid opening. The control knob is preferably of plastics which is a good insulator and can be turned to open the steam openings as required.
