A recording medium is directed onto a cyclically moving support cylinder 1 and information is recorded on the recording medium as it is sucked onto the support cylinder 1, whereafter upon termination of the recording, the suction force is controlled to permit the recording medium to be discharged out of the circulatory moving path of the support cylinder 1.
