PURPOSE:To enhance the accuracy in detecting a tape position by providing a light-receiving part moving device which moves a light-receiving part so as to maintain a constant relative distance with reference to a tape, based on a command from a calculating device. CONSTITUTION:The light-emitting part 11 of a tape position detector 14 is connected to a calculating controller 9 through a cable 15. On the other hand, the light-receiving part 12 of the detector 14 is connected to the calculating controller 9 through a movable part 21 of an electromagnet 20 which is a moving device for the light-receiving part, and the part 12 can be moved toward and away from the tape 4. The controller 9 calculates the desired moving amount of the light-receiving part 12 by using a functional equation stored in an ROM region and the data on coil dimensions stored in a RAM region, and controls the electromagnet 20 so that the spacing between the 4 and the light-receiving part 12 is kept constant irrespective of their positions. |
