PURPOSE:To prevent foundry sand from exfoliation in an apparatus for continuously conveying frameless molds, by a method wherein the amount of lifting of conveying rails with respect to mold placing rails is minimzed by a weight detector to clean the mold bottom surface when the mold is transferred and removed. CONSTITUTION:A prescribed number of molds 17 are delivered and pushed onto a framless type mold placing rails 4, a hydraulic cylinder 11 is actuated by a command from a controller 19 to rotate a shaft 8 through a link arm 9, then an eccentric cam 7 is rotated thereby to lift a lifting base 12, and the upper ends of the conveying rails 16 in stead of the placing rails 4 abut on the undersurfaces of the molds 17 to raise the molds 17. The weight detector 3 detects the reduction of the weight, and when the reduced amount reaches a predetermined value, the controller 19 stops the operation of the hydraulic cylinder 11. The controller 19 issues a command to the hydraulic cylinder 18, and the conveying rails 16 proceeds with the molds 17 theron. Since the undersurfaces 20 of the molds 17 slide lightly on the placing rails, they receive a kind of cleaning action, so that the foundry sand is prevented from exfoliation. |
