PURPOSE:To restrict a generation and accumulation of tar material in a combustion wick to be used in a combustion unit for liquid fuel by a method wherein a coating agent composed of a non-organic pigment, silicic unhydride and surface active agent is immersed into a fuel gasification part in the main wick composed of specific compositions. CONSTITUTION:A main wick 1 is formed by a ceramic fiber of silica-alumina bound by a silica binder and the main wick 1 is connected to the suction wick 2 made of polypropyrene fabric etc. Fuel gasification part 3 which is exposed to the combustion chamber when it is fitted to the combustion unit is immersed with coating material 4 which is composed of non-organic pigment, silicic unhydride and surface active agent. Numeral 5 indicates a sewing thread and 6 shows an adhesive tape. In this way, the liquid fuel is suctioned from the suction wick 2 into the main wick 1, and when it is gasified at the surface of the fuel gasification part 3, it is possible to prevent a part of the fuel constituents from being oxidized to make a tar and to clog the air holes in the fuel gasification part 3, and then to make a deterioration of a volume of combustion. |
