The present invention relates to a battery cell and a method for manufacturing the same, capable of preventing the reduction of battery capacity while improving the performance of the battery cell. The battery cell includes: a stacked type electrode assembly in which electrode sheets are wound while interposing separators therebetween or a stacked / folded type electrode assembly in which a plurality of electrodes or unit cells wound by separation films are stacked in the height direction on the basis of a plane; a battery case which seals the electrode assembly and electrolyte; and a fixing member which covers the outer circumference of the battery case battery except for one side of electrode terminals, and consists of a thermosetting polymer resin to enable to resist against a volume change of the electrode assembly during charging and discharging operations or against an increase of volume by the gas generated from the inside of the battery case.
