<p>A wafer construction for attachment of an electronic circuit to a flexible sheet-like portion of an article of merchandise is described and comprises a generally flat, expansive, rigid wafer element in which an electronic circuit is embedded, the wafer element having an opening therethrough for accommodating the shank of a tack-like fastener; locking means are arranged on one side of the wafer element for gripping the shank of a tack-like fastener inserted through the opening from the opposite side of the wafer element; and a projection is formed on the opposite side of the wafer element and surrounds the opening.</p> |
