PURPOSE:To obtain a picture of a high quality without omission by a plus discharge, by a method wherein a voltage, which is higher than a voltage produced at a time when a usual signal is applied, is applied to a control electrode corresponding to a single black signal among a picture signal input group. CONSTITUTION:With regard to an input to a control electrode, a voltage -(EC+ DELTAE) being higher than a usual voltage -Ec is generated from a 2-output DC power source 8 by means of a signal from a black signal detecting decoder 7 for detecting a signal bit from a picture signal. A ring counter 1 scans in turn picture signals, a decoder 2 selects a control electrode to produce a control signal, and the power source 8 applies the usual voltage -Ec or the voltage -(Ec+DELTAE), being higher than the voltage -Ec, to a control electrode drive circuit 5 by means of a signal from the decoders 2 and 7. |
