PURPOSE:To analyze the fault of a disk controller in its early stage, and to take a countermeasure to the fault, by reporting the fault to many host devices. CONSTITUTION:The permit signal of a flip-flop 7 permits a counter 5 to count an index signal sent from a disk device. When a fault, etc., occurs and the counter 5 supplies an overflow signal due to a time-over to an interruption control circuit 6, an interruption address is supplied to a switching gate 14 and a microsequence jumps to the address while the next address is stored in a return address register 1. An instruction specified by the interruption address is executed to edit control information in a disk controller in addition to address information from a register 1, thereby reporting the results to host devices. This report indicates the completion of a software instruction. |
