PURPOSE:To reduce the overhead for working set re-evaluation by avoiding the re-evaluating to a set frame where the maximum number and the minimum number of the number of pages permitted to the working set frame are coincident. CONSTITUTION:Each frame of a working set (WS) frame block 1 is provided with a field storing the maximum and minimum numbers (MXi and MNi) of the page number, and the WS re-evaluation is skipped for the WS frame where the numbers MXi and MNi are coincident at a comparison circuit 7. Thus, the overhead for the WS re-evaluation can be reduced in the WS managing system. |
