PURPOSE:To increase the surface characteristic, electromagnetic characteristic and shelf stability, by forming a magnetic layer in which magnetic powder containing a specific trisamine compound is dispersed in a binder. CONSTITUTION:A trisamine expressed in the formula (where; n is 0<=n<=10, R1, R2-R4 are H and C1-4 alkyl, R5 is C1-12 alkyl) is dissolved in a solvent such as toluene, and after magnetic powder is mixed and dispersed in this solution, processed magnetic powder is obtained by filtering and drying the mixture. The magnetic substance layer dispersing this magnetic powder in a binder resin is formed on a support to obtain a magnetic recording medium. A magnetic recording medium having good dispersing uniformity of magnetic powder, no adhesive property of tape surface, great bonding performance with the support, no peeling, excellent wear resistance and S/N ratio, and excellent stability during starte, can be obtained. |
