Pure NH3 and CO2 was recovered from mixts. contg. NH3 and CO2, and possible water. Thus, an NH3-rich mixt. was 1st treated in an NH3 rectification column to drive off NH3 which is returned to the top of the rectification column. The sup liq. from the latter column, contg. CO2 and NH3 is fed to a CO2 rectification column where it is treated with addnl. H2O to sep. CO2 and inert gases; the sump liq. from the CO2 rectification column is fed to a desorption vessel and back to the NH3 recitification column.
