<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound useful as a medicine in high yield, by reacting a novel 4-[5-(3,4-dihydrocarbostyrilyl)oxy]methylethylene sulfite as a raw material with tert-butylamine. CONSTITUTION:5-( 2,3-Dihydroxy )propoxy-3,4-dihydrocarbostyril of formulaIis reacted with a thionyl compound of formula II (X is lower alkoxyl, Cl or Br) to give 4-[5-(3,4-dihydrocarbostyrilyl)oxy]methylethylene sulfite of formula III which is a novel substance. The resultant substance is then reacted with tert- butylamine in an inert solvent at 50-80 deg.C to afford 5-(2-hydroxy-3-tert-butylamino)propoxy-3,4-dihydrocarbostyril of formula IV having the beta-adrenergic action and a salt thereof. USE:A remedy for angina pectoris, arrhythmia, etc. and preventing agent or remedy for thrombosis.</p> |
