PURPOSE:To obtain the titled compound in high yield, by adding a compound of chromium, vanadium, cobalt, or molybdenum to an oxidation solution of cyclohexane so that a peroxide is decomposed, adding an alkali to the solution so that an organic acid and an ester are saponified. CONSTITUTION:An oxidation reaction of cyclohexane is treated with 0.3-10ppm calculated as metal based on the oxidation solution of a compound of metal selected from chromium, vanadium, cobalt, and molybdenum, e.g., chromium (III) naphthenate preferably at 130-170 deg.C, so that a peroxide in the reaction solution is decomposed. The solution is then treated with 70-90% of stoichiometric amount of an alkali such as caustic soda preferably at 130-170 deg.C, so that an organic acid and an ester in the reaction solution are saponified under mild conditions, and the loss caused by self condensation of cyclohexanone, etc. is suppressed, to raise the yield of the desired compound. |
