The present invention relates to a keyboard and a method for changing an input mode thereof. The present invention is to smoothly input general symbols and abbreviations by selectively changing a normal mode into a stenography mode without a mode switch key if necessary in the middle of inputting a symbol in the normal mode. A keyboard according to the present invention monitors detects whether or not a general key and a specific key are pressed together in the middle of inputting the symbol in the normal mode. When the general key and the specific key are pressed together, the keyboard changes the normal mode to the stenography mode to input an abbreviation matched with the general and specific keys. If the input of the abbreviation has been finished, the keyboard returns the stenography mode to the normal mode. |
