PURPOSE:To prevent the flow-out of inert gas fro annealing by simple apparatus by supplying the same gas as the inert gas fro using the annealing from end side of wire rod supplying of wire rod guiding cylinder. CONSTITUTION:In a continuous annealing for the wire rod, the inert gas, supplied in the wire rod guiding cylinder 2 from an inert gas supplying source 7 through an inert gas supplying part 4 is heated by a heating device 3 and the annealing is executed to the wire rod 1, while ascending it in the inner part of wire rod guiding cylinder 2. On the other hand, the inert gas front the inert gas supplying source 7 is sent to a closed room 8 at end of wire rod supplying side for the wire rod guiding cylinder 2 through branching piping 11, and blown in the wire rod guiding cylinder 2 through the opening 10 of the nozzle 9 to the same direction as the wire rod 1 sending direction. The flowing speed of this inert gas is increased by action of the nozzle 9 and the flowing of inert gas for annealing is held to the inner part of wire rod guiding cylinder 2.
