<p>PURPOSE:To decide the presence or absence of web waving beforehand in one pass of screw down in universal rolling by estimating the compressive internal stress in the rolling direction generated during rolling and exerted upon the web, the critical buckling stress in the rolling direction dependent upon the geometrical shape of the web after the pass and the yield stress corresponding to the web temp. after the pass. CONSTITUTION:In universal rolling of H-steel, the internal stress sigma1 in the rolling direction generated in a web 3A by the unequality in the draft distribution between the web 3A and flanges 3B, the critical buckling stress sigma2 in the rolling direction determined by the size of the web 3A after the pass and the yield stress sigma3 corresponding to the temp. of the web 3A after the pass are determined. It is decided that web waving takes place when the magnitude relations thereof are sigma2<sigma1<sigma3.</p> |
