The invention concerns an electric power transmission line for direct current. The electric power transmission line contains two lens systems, which are designed to protect the current- carrying conductors 2, 3 of the line against thunderstorms. Above the current-carrying conductor 2 connected to a negative pole 6 of the direct current source 7 is arranged a lens system that contains at least two wires 9, which are separated from each other by a certain distance. The lens system containing a single wire 11 is arranged above the current-carrying conductor 3 connected to the positive pole 8 of the direct current source 7.
