The supra-pubic drainage device comprises a curved needle which is connected to a drainage catheter. The needle and catheter are inserted into the urether through a hollow probe. The pointed end of the needle is inclined at an angle of between 115 and 145 degrees to the rear part which joins the catheter. The rear end of the needle is formed with a manipulating device in the form of a rectilinear element with a pair of lugs depending from the lower face. These lugs fit into a pair of seats fromed in diametrically aligned positions on the needle. The rectilinear element has a thumb-rest formed in the upper surface for gripping by the operator.
