PURPOSE:To make it possible to measure accurately and surely the time of water permeation by burying an electric resistor at an arbitrary position in the film of a lining or coating and sensing change in insulation of the periphery of the electric resistor. CONSTITUTION:The film 3 of a lining or coating is formed on the inner face of metallic base materials 1 and 2, and at an arbitrary position in the lining film an electric resister of usually 50-1,000ohms, for example, a bent resistant wire 31, is buried, and the resister is connected through a wire 5 to a strain measuring apparatus 4. With this arrangement, when moisture reaches betwen the bent part of the resistance wire 31, the electric resistance of the periphery of the resistant wire 31 in the film 3 drops and the part of the resistant wire 31 that are adjacent are short-circuited, with the result of changing the electric resistance of a strain gauge as a whole. The time of water permeation, therefore, can be measured exactly and for sure. |
