PURPOSE:To display a standby state for supplementation clearly while preventing a flicker of the display for the supplementation, by carrying out the display for developer supplementation continuously until a power supply is turned off when a detecting means for the remaining amount of a developer detects a deficiency in developer continuously, for a certain time. CONSTITUTION:As a detector 5 for the remaining amount of a developer, an oscillation type detector is fitted. When magnetic toner in a developer container 4 is consumed until the state in the figure, the detector outputs an output signal. If this output signal is generated continuously for >=1 copying cycle, toner end signal is inputted to a microcomputer. Once the toner end memory is inputted, toner end display is carried out until a power supply for a copying machine is turned off. Consequently, even when the toner falls from the circumference of a toner thickness regulating blade by its weight during the stop of copying, the display is never turned off. |
