PURPOSE:To prevent the hot off-setting of a toner during heat fixing by adding fine powder of polypropylene with low mol.wt. to the toner surface. CONSTITUTION:To a commercially available toner is added 0.2-1wt% powder of polypropylene with low mol.wt. having <=1mum average grain size, and they are uniformly mixed and dispersed with an ultrasonic jet mill. Thus, the polypropylene has a more immediate effect then conventional polypropylene with low mol.wt. kneaded into a toner, the amount of the used polypropylene can be reduced, and a toner with no reduction in the fluidity due to the addition is obtd. |
