<p>The grinder-holder (1) is used on machines for polishing monumental stone (9), fabricated entirely of plastics and having a central hole by which it is coupled to a planetary mandrel (2). It comprises an annular plate clamped onto a rigid metal back plate (7) retained by a shaft (3) shoulder (8). The use of different diameter back plates (7) enables the flexibility of the assembly to be varied to suit different stones being polished. The two plates (7,1) may have axial outward edge returns (10,1b), the latter (1b) being threaded (4) to receive the base (5) of the grinder (6). The grinder may have an hexagonal socket (11) by which it is screwed into the holder (1) and a demountable pin (16) may prevent accidental unscrewing.</p> |
