摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain an AM modulated wave having a reduced distortion through simple constitution, by giving a wave detection to a part of the radiated electric power and amplifying the detection output to apply it to a variable impedance element connected to a waveguide along with a modulated signal. CONSTITUTION:A millimeter wave oscillator 4 is connected to a radiator 1, and the output of the oscillator 4 is radiated through the radiator 1. A diode 5 is connected to the waveguide 2 in the form of an AM modulating variable impedance element. The impedance of the diode 5 varies by the modulated signal voltage which is applied to a diode input terminal 9. Thus the operation of the waveguide 1 is varied to vary the radiation pattern. A wave detector 6 is connected to an antenna 3, and the AM modulate wave is reproduced through the detector 6 and amplified by a feedback amplifier 7 to be fed to the diode 5. The distortion of the AM modulation is compensated by the AM modulation. The modulated signal is supplied through a modulated signal input terminal 8 and applied to the diode 5.
