PURPOSE:An antimicrobial composition, containing a halogenated phenolic compound, an alkyltin compound and/or phenyltin compound and an iodopropargyl compound in combination, capable of showing a synergistic effect at a low concentration, and usable for wood, synthetic fibers, etc. CONSTITUTION:An antimicrobial composition containing (A) a halogenated phenolic compound, e.g. chlorinated phenol or brominated phenol, (B) an alkyltin compound, e.g. triethyltin compound, tripropyltin compound or tributyltin compound, and/or phenyltin compound, e.g. triphenyltin compound and (C) an iodoproparagyl compound, e.g. iodopropargyl ether, iodopropargyl formal, at a weight ratio of preferably 1:(0.01-0.5):(0.01-0.5). The antimicrobial composition consisting of a surfactant, e.g. ethylene oxide, water as a solvent and 3wt% or less alkali metallic salt is easily handleable and particularly preferable. |
