PURPOSE:To prepare a master paper for lithographic printing which is excellent in a printing durability and enables preparation of a clear print by providing a hydrophilic layer with a scattered particles on a waterproof supporting body and by forming the surface thereof to have fine concavo-convexes. CONSTITUTION:A water-soluble resin solution with fine particles 21 scattered therein is applied on the surface of a waterproof supporting body 1 such as paper and a plastic sheet and dried, whereby a hydrophilic layer 2 wherein an adhesive amount of solid is about 5-30g/m<2> is formed. For a substance constittuting the fine particles 21, water-souble resin, such as gelatin and polyvinyl alcohol, whose average particle size is 50mum or more is adopted. The ratio in weight between the water-souble resin 22 forming the hydrophilic layer and the fine particles 21 in the hydrophilic layer 2 is preferably about 0.5:1-5:1, because it enables formation of excellent fine concavo-convexes on the hydrophilic layer and on the uppermost layer of a master paper for lithoprinting. |
