In order to render the light emitted by an indicator lamp visible even in the event of strong ambient light reflected from the lamp, use is made of an indicator lamp in which the light source is visible due to a narrow arrangement of holes in an otherwise opaque filter element which is arranged in front of the light-emitting element. The filter element can be a fine wire cloth which is preferably blackened, or can consist of a perforated metal foil. <IMAGE>
