PURPOSE:To obtain a low iron loss material which is small in dispersion of magnetism and has a good surface characteristic by heating a silicon steel slab contg. an inhibitor component at a specific heating-up rate in an induction heating furnace in which a low oxidation atmosphere is maintained and holding the surface temp. of the slab in a specific temp. region, then rolling the slab. CONSTITUTION:The silicon steel slab contg. 0.020-0.080wt% C, 2.0-4.5% Si, 0.02-0.15% Mn, and 0.012-0.10% in total of >=1kinds among S, Se and Al as the inhibitor component is cast. Such slab is heated to >=1,350 deg.C central temp. of the slab in the induction heating furnace controlled to the low oxidation atmosphere. The slab is held for 5-60min in the temp. region where the surface temp. of the slab is maintained at 1,420-1,495 deg.C in the this heating stage. The slab is heated up at >=8 deg.C/min heating-up rate until the surface temp. at 1,320 deg.C attains 1,420-1,495 deg.C. The slab is then subjected to hot and cold rolling to form a steel sheet having 0.10-0.40mm thickness. The grain oriented silicon steel sheet of low iron loss is produced by the above-mentioned method. |
