PURPOSE:A ring for spinning, prepared by (soft) nitridig an alloy steel; containing a specific amount of Al and Cr, and forming a nitrogen diffusive layer on the surface layer thereof, having a high abrasion resistance to a traveler, etc. and a little strain. CONSTITUTION:An alloy containing at least one or more 0.2-2.0% Al, 0.2- 26.0% Cr is subjected to the soft nitriding or nitriding, e.g. gas soft nitriding, gas nitriding, salt bath nitriding or ionic nitriding. The resultant nitrided alloy is then polished, e.g. buff polishing to remove the Fe-N compound layer formed on the outermost surface and give the aimed ring for spinning having the surface layer made from the nitrogen diffusive layer (b). EFFECT:The smooth running of travelers and remarkably improved spinning conditions. |
