Expansion and sealing joint for concrete slabs - has rubber moulded section with cladding and spring retaining clips

The expansion and sealing joint fits in the irregular gap between two mass concrete slabs (1,2). The joint consists of an upper part (10) moulded from rubber or synthetic material which is flexible. The vertical outer surfaces are grooved to form water tight seals. The lower extremity of the moulding is enlarged into a circular section and reinforced with a metallic sheath (20) onto which are fitted spring clips (30). When the sealing joint is pressed into the irregular slot it is compressed laterally and sels on both sides. The spring clips are exposed under an upward force.
