The machine for sharpening drill bits comprises a centring unit (7) pivoting on its vertical axis and moving towards the grinding wheel (10). The centring unit (7) is controlled by a reproducing cam making it possible to obtain, on the cutting lip of the drill bit, the cutting angle and the clearance angle in a single operation, as well as the reduction (thinning) of the shaft of the drill bits, by means of a movable cradle (5). <IMAGE>
