PURPOSE:To ensure clamp strength and exchange a lower mold easily and rapidly, by a method wherein a mold device for tire vulcanizer is provided with a mold clamp rod which is moved up and down by a hydraulic cylinder is revolved by a hydraulic rack and pinion. CONSTITUTION:In order to remove a lower mold 4, a clamp rod 34 is raised through a piston 33 by hydraulic pressure from a port 32 of a cylinder 30 and a member 36 to be engaged is separated from an engaging member 28, and then the clamp rod 34 is revolved 90 deg. through a rack 46 and a pinion 41 by hydraulic pressure from a port 47 of a revolving cylinder 44. Thereby the member 36 is released from the engaged state and the lower mold 4 can be removed. In order to assemble the lower mold 4, the member 36 remains in non-engaged state and the lower mold 4 is put onto a base 1, and then the member 36 is engaged by hydraulic pressure from a port 48 of the revolving cylinder 44 and hydraulic pressure is worked from a port 31 of the cylinder 30 for up and down motion, thereby the lower mold 4 is clamped. |
