Steel and concrete gravity platform suitable for mounting over a sub-sea template comprises a three-legged structure, each leg terminating in feet of large diameter which may be concentric with the legs or eccentric to provided greater space for a template between adjacent feet. There is ample space to accommodate risers, drill strings etc. in the triangular space between the legs and the structure can be located in much closer proximity to sub-sea templates than previous designs. Used for offshore drilling of wells and prodn. of oil. The structure has a dual purpose i.e. drilling and prodn. |
