PURPOSE:To obtain a long-lived toner having superior negative chargeability, no danger of ignition in pulverization, and low fog, and capable of forming uniform image density, by adding a metallic complex of a specified azo compound to a toner. CONSTITUTION:A metallic complex compound added to a toner in an amount of 0.5-5pts.wt. per 100pts.wt. of resin is represented by the general formulaIin which A, A' are optionally substituted diazo component residues; B, B' are optionally substituted coupling component residues; Y1-Y4 are H, but not simultaneously H, or each a group represented by the formula II; R1, R2 are each H, 1-6C alkyl, cyclohexyl, phenyl, or C2H4OH; (Z), (Z') are situated in the ortho position with respect to the azo group, and they are each -O- or -COO-; and M is Cr, Co, or Fe, thus permitting a toner having superior negative chargeability and no danger of ignition, and causing no pyrolysis or the like of dyes added to the toner to be obtained. |
