PURPOSE:To automatically obtain acoustic chracteristics suitable for a music signal and a speech signal by comparing the signal level of a frequency component characteristic to, for example, a music signl, extracted by an LPF, with th entire level of an input signal. CONSTITUTION:A right and a left stereophonic channel signal from input signals 1 and 2 are passed through a mixing and automatic gain control circuit 3 and supplied separately to paths (a) and (b); the signal on the path (a) is supplied to an LPF4 to extract a low frequency component, which is passed through an amplifying circuit 5, and a half-wave rectifying and integrating circuit 7 to obtain an envelope signal. The signal on the path (b), on the other hand, is supplied to a half-wave rectifying and integrating circuit 7 to obtain an envelope signal. The output signals of the circuits 6 and 7 are supplied to a differential amplifying circuit 8 to operate analog swtches 10 and 11 by its difference signal. Consequently, when it is judged than the signal from the terminals 1 and 2 are music signals, forming circuits 12 and 14 are inserted into a transmission system and when it is judged than they are speed signals, forming circuits 13 and 15 are inserted, thus obtaining adequate acoustic characteristics automatically. |
