PURPOSE:To achieve quick jam detection, by providing a non-contact thermal type infrared ray temperature sensor in a process step downstream of a peeling means and giving a jam detecting signal if the sensor output fluctuates a prescribed fluctuation band or more. CONSTITUTION:If a toner image support 6 is not peeled off with a peeling nail 4, the progressing direction ridge of the support 6 reaches the front of a non- contact temperature sensor 5, the reduction in the radiation of infrared rays from a heating roll 7 with the toner image support 6 is immediately detected with the sensor 5 and transmitted to a comparison circuit 12. Since an output signal from a temporary storage circuit 9 has a higher value before the reduction in the amount of radiation of infrared rays, the difference between the detected signal and the stored signal is detected at the comparison circuit 12, and the power supply of a heating device 14 is interrupted with the operation of a control circuit 13. Since this temperature sensor 5 has high sensitivity and response, the interruption of the power supply can quickly be made. Thus, quick jam detection can be made with the constitution. |
