PURPOSE:To prevent the attraction phenomenon to set a magnetic head slider to a normal floating state in a short time when the rotation of a magnetic disc is started, by making the surface finish of a landing region rougher than that of an information recording region. CONSTITUTION:An information recording region 2 and a landing region 3 are provided on the surface of a magnetic disc, and the surface finish of the landing region 3 of the magnetic disc 1 is made rougher than that of the information recording region 2. For example, a recording layer 8 consisting of magnetic materials is formed on the surface of a magnetic disc blank plate 7 by the plating method or the like. The information recording region 2 and the landing region 3 are provided on this recording layer 8, and the information recording region 2 is worked precisely to <=0.015mum surface finish. The landing region 3 is worked to 0.15-0.2mum surface finish rougher than that of the region 2. When the magnetic disc 1 is not rotated, a magnetic head slider 5 holding a magnetic head 4 is always positioned in the landing region 3. |
