A device for joining together two single adhesive tapes (42 and 52) provided with an adhesive layer (60) on one side serves to produce a double adhesive tape (68) which is provided with an adhesively bonded-together overlapping region (72) on both sides, in each case partly adhesive, such that surfaces to be worked on, in particular during painting work, sharp edges can be protected by the adhesion on one side and the entire surface can be protected with cover sheets by adhesion to the other surface. For this purpose, two single adhesive tapes (42 and 52) are transported in planes (76 and 82) offset with respect to one another with the adhesive surfaces (60 and 62) towards one another, so that an overlapping region (72) free of transverse forces can be formed, it being possible to make the adhesive bond more intensive and thereby more durable, stressable with higher forces and wrinkle-free by corresponding deflection (66) of the two tapes (42 and 52) over a common deflection roller (48), so that no paint residues can press through the wrinkles onto the surface to be covered. <IMAGE> |
