Method for producing fibre couplers according to the beam splitter principle

A method is described for producing fibre couplers according to the beam splitter principle, in which starting bodies having parallel guide grooves are separated at right angles to the guide grooves and fibres are inserted into the grooves of the separated parts produced. A covering member is mounted on the fibres of a separated part and has two exactly parallel sides, of which one is mounted on the fibres and the other is a cleavage/fracture surface. The body thus produced is mounted on the other separated part and bonded thereto. The bodies produced are processed further in batches to form couplers with the aid of cleavage/fracture technology.
