Polarization haploscope

The polarization haploscope is a universal device which permits binocular functions to be demonstrated and quantified, and special training of binocular vision to be carried out. It will primarily be used for patients with squint. Determination of the central visual acuity is possible as are aniseikonia determinations, i.e. differences in image size can be recorded for each eye. Use of the so-called Haiding's brush in free space expands the diagnostic possibilities. In addition, amblyopia can be accurately recorded and classified. Furthermore, accurate recording and follow-up of paralytic strabismus is possible. It is to be emphasized, in particular, that the natural conditions of vision, i.e. the conditions in free space, can be perfectly simulated and that work can be carried out virtually without any dissociation.
