PURPOSE:To suppress the temperature rise of a rotary electric machine by providing an enclosure plate around the outer periphery of a rotor, thereby forming an axial ventilation duct of the rotor, axially dividing a stator into to segments and flowing cooling air, thereby effectively cooling the rotor and the stator. CONSTITUTION:A partition plate is provided around the outer periphery of a rotor 8 to form an axial ventilation duct 18. Fans 19a, 19b are mounted for flowing cooling air at both ends of a rotational shaft 5, and annular passages 16 (16a, 16b) are formed at both ends of guide plates 14 (14a, 14b) and fan covers 15 (15a, 15b). Further, two air chambers 12a, 12b are formed through the plate 11a outside the stator to communicate with the annular passage, and the radial ducts 13a, 13b of the stator 4 are connunicated through a cooler 9. In this manner, the stator 4 flows cooling air from the duct 13a to the duct 13b, and the rotor 6 flows axially the cooling air, thereby separately cooling in a series of ventilation passages. |
