A pressure testing device consists of a bell-like container which can be detachably fixed in a gastight fashion on the outflow side of a container provided with a back-pressure seal. The fixing is performed on the flange, where the back-pressure seal is provided with the addition of a simple sealing means. The device has a pressure-indicating unit and inlet and outlet openings for a test medium. Provided in addition is a connection for an air pump via which the internal pressure can additionally be varied. Fixing of the pressure-testing device can be performed via adapter rings for each flange size.
