Waste bin which can be installed in a cupboard and comprises a cylindrical housing having a plastic ring, arranged at the upper and lower housing edge, having a moulded-on plane part of rectangular shape for receiving pivot pins from a waste bin inserted in the housing, which is retained by the upper plastic ring, a cover having a likewise moulded-on plane part of rectangular shape and bearing brackets secured on the side wall of the cupboard, a bead being provided in the moulded-on plane part of rectangular shape of the upper plastic ring, into which bead a plastic part likewise having a bead with an inclined base which ends in a universal ball joint-type recess, is inserted, the universal ball joint-type recess serving to receive a pin having a ball moulded on at the lower end, the pin in the closed position of the cover abutting the inclined base of the plastic part and projecting beyond the surface of the moulded-on plane part of rectangular shape and engaging in a bead with inclined surfaces of the moulded-on plane part of rectangular shape of the cover, and the pin raising the cover upwards, while maintaining its position, when the waste bin is pivoted out of the cupboard into the upright position.
