PURPOSE:To obtain a small sized and low price polarization separator, by providing a polarization film plane intersected with a light from an incoming and outgoing end with a prescribed angle to an incident optical axis and two reflecting planes mutually reflecting a polarization film transmitting polarization component and reflected polarization component in parallel at a reflecting end of a light conducting plate. CONSTITUTION:A polarization film 5 having the polarization separation characteristics intersecting with an incident optical axis A from an incoming and outgoing end 4 of a transparent optical waveguide plate 1 to an incident optical axis A with a prescribed angle is coated to a tilt end plane 2 at the reflection end of the plate 1. A triangle transparent plate body 7 provided with a plane 8 reflecting a polarization component P transmitted through the film 5 is incorporatedly fixed to the end plane 2. On the other hand, a polarization component S reflected at the film 5 is reflected on the end 4 in parallel with the component P on a reflecting plane 6 of a tilt end plane at the reflection end. A conversion lens 9 is provided at the end 4 and an incident optical fiber 10 and outgoing optical fibers 11, 12 are provided. The incident light A propagates to a focus B positioned on the plane 8 of the transparent body 7 at the lens 9, the respective polarization components P and S are separated on the polarization plane 5 and reflected to be radiated to the fibers 11 and 12. |
