PURPOSE:To exactly detect a signal read time in a signal reproducing device of a constant linear velocity system, by generating a signal of freqency corresponding to the number of revolutions of a recording medium, and generating the voltage corresponding to square of a period of this signal. CONSTITUTION:A pickup means 4 is opposed to a recording track position of a recording medium 1 on which a spiral recording track has been formed, and a signal recorded in a recording track is read by the pickup means 4 by rotating the recording medium 1 so that a tangential speed of the recording track is kept constant at any position of the pickup means 4. Such a signal reproducing device is provided with a means 9 for generating an output signal having frequency corresponding to the number of revolutions of the recording medium 1, and a means 10 for generating the voltage corresponding to square of a period of its output signal, so as to detect a time for reading a signal from the recording medium 1 by the pickup means 4 in accordance with said voltage. |
