PURPOSE:To save the trouble of operation, by moving a head to a prescribed track position when a stepper motor is excited at a power on time in a device having the stepper motor for moving the head. CONSTITUTION:A steel belt 6 is stretched between a head carriage 4 and the circumferential face of a pulley 5, and the steel belt 6 is wound or rewound around or from the pulley 5 by driving of a stepper motor 7 to drive the head carriage 4 vertically in figure. The head carriage 4 is guided linearly along a guide shaft 8, and a spring 9 for return between the head carriage 4 and a fixed part stratins always the head carriage 4; and when power is turned off, the spring 9 returns the head carriage 4 to the lower part in figure and moves a head 3 to a part lower slightly than the track (0). If the position of the head 3 for excitation of the stepper motor 7 at a power on time is defined as the position of the track (0), the head 3 is always set to the position of the track (0) simultaneously with power on. |
