PURPOSE:To improve the performance, by giving one of magnetic head with a degree of freedom for motion only in the circumferential direction which are brought into contact with both faces of a flexible disc, and the other with a degree of freedom for motion in the rasius direction and the circumferential direction. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head 13 is supported by a supporting mechanism consisting of a gimbals 14 and one pivot 15 provided in a carrier 11 so as to give a degree of freedom for motion in the radius direction and the circumferential direction to the magnetic head 13. The other magnetic head 12 is fixed to a magnetic head attaching part of a gimbals 16 having the same structure as the gimbals 14 and is supported by two pivots 17 and 18 of a carrier 10, which are arranged in the radius direction, so that the magnetic head 12 is slided only in the circumferential direction. Thus, a device is formed which is not inclined in the radius direction not to deviate the track center and is superior in the performance of the contact with a flexible disc and has less required pressure force not to damage the life of the flexible disc. |
