PURPOSE:To improve the weather resistance of an electrooptical element by water repellent finishing. CONSTITUTION:To prevent a thin film sheet consisting of a polarizing film, a coloring filter, a reflecting film, etc., provided on the surface of an electrooptical element from peeling off at its circumferential part, the entry of water or oil from the circumferential part of the thin film sheet sould be prevented. For this purpose, a 1-30% water repellent is mixed with resin to prepare a water repellent finishing liquid which is regulated to a desired density with a solvent or an emulsion. In this case, any kind of resin which is enough adhesive or cohesive to stick the water repellent to the surface of the electrooptical element is usable and favorably sets at ordinary temperature after addition. The water repellent has high durability even when used in the presence of oil having oil repelling property. The water repellent also improves the sealing of the sheet part or injection hole sealing part. |
