PURPOSE:To enable accurate operation to convey rectangular plates such as pallets at a spacing between their end faces, stop the plates in a shock absorbing manner and resume the conveyance of the plates at a prescribed time. CONSTITUTION:A rectangular plate (pallet) 1 is conveyed in the direction of an arrow P by drive rollers 2 located in contact with both the side edges of the plate. When the plate 1 has come, during its conveyance, into contact with a stop roller 7 being in such an initial state that an arm 6 is located in contact with a positioning member 9, the speed of the plate is reduced by the force of a spring 8. When the stop roller 7 is brought to the top dead center on the turn locus Q of a lever 4 by its turn about the axis 3 of rotation, the plate 1 is stopped. A cylinder 10 is then driven for elongation in accordance with a releasing instruction to push the arm 6 to put the roller 7 out of the plate conveyance zone. As a result, the plate 1 is released. |
